i used royal purple on my bmw and i did not like it. The engine was not as quiet and it didnt feel right. I switched back to the one they sell at the dealer and there was a night and day difference. Supposedly royal purple is great, but i didnt get those results.

I've used Redline 5W40 for 3 years in my Boxster S with very good results (now using Mobil 1 5W50). Blackstone UOA supported the excellent results.
I use Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W50 in the 993 Turbo. Again, excellent results reported by UOA's.
There is a TON of info on this subject, and very long threads. "Search" is your friend.
A lot of n/a 993 guys run Brad Penn.

I personally think that most oils are 90% are comparable to each other. As long as the engine doesn't live in a stress environment and you're changing it regularly, any oil would probably do.
I personally run Brad Penn. My cam and rockers were perfect when it came out at 95K miles, and so I started using BP to keep them that way.

These kind of comments make me chuckle.
Unless you experienced an engine failure or tore the motor apart, you wouldn't know if you have any issues.
This is not something you can outwardly see or feel.
RP consistently performs poorly in UOAs and nobody seems to like it (who isn't somewhere on their payroll)
