993 motor oil

We were under the impression that Brad Penn can foul the catalytic converter in 993's that still run them.
Can anyone chime in here with some facts/truth?

I've only been using BP for 14k miles, I run stock cats, and no issues...

I'm not aware of any documented failures. ZDDP levels, while higher than M1 and a number of others, is probably right about where the levels were when our cars were built. As I said before, I'm willing to risk catalytic converter failure over engine failure any day!

The cat failure issue is because manufacturers have to warrant the emissions systems on todays engines for 100k miles and are doing all they can to increase the longevity of the cats. Also, the emission levels are much tighter than the levels when our cars were built so even small amounts of cat poisoning can lead to smog check failures. IMHO, this whole cat-poisoning problem is over-blown for our cars.
Since Mobil1 does have increased levels of ZDDP for motorcycle oils that do not have to meet the same smog rules, at least not yet, they must believe the additive is important.

If one carefully manages oil level (remembering that any excess oil get pushed into the airbox and burned in the engine), that ensures the motor isn't burning anything but gasoline to minimize any damage/contamination to the substrate in the cats.
Here are some interesting figures:
1) New cat; $2880 to $3K.
2) New cams, rockers; $3254 plus a few thousand in labor to R&R everything.
