Default Question about 996 steering wheel airbag cover

Wondering if I did not want to run an airbag, could I just use an airbag cover. Have seen them for around $150 and sure beats buying an airbag for 800 that I wont even use.
Let me know
Thanks
Chris

Any reason why you want to remove one of the biggest safety innovations in the last 30 years?

we own porsches, not a good car to go cheap on.

Furthermore, safety is one item you should never attempt to save money on.

Airbags are like toilet rolls. It's not every day that you get a good, runny dose of diarrhea, but when you do, you realise that sometimes there are unforeseen events in life that you might need some assistance in walking away from, and it's better to be prepared than not...

I'm sure the OP is a big boy and can probably make do without the mother hen responses.

To the OP, I've never done this, but I'm sure you'll end up with an airbag light which may or may not be an issue for you.

yes, you will get an airbag light but you can ignore the light or just installed a resistor to simulate the airbag.
