Lifter ticker! Issues ?
I think I have have a bad lifter on the drivers exhaust....shocker.
It has been there about 2 weeks. Is this a serious issue... ie stop driving and start turning a wrench?

How loud is it?
if the lifter totally stops working, then you will not get good lift on the exhaust valve which will cause that piston to drop in efficiency. There is also no cushioning on the ramp up when opening, its more like a solid lifter, but that should be OK if you do not run the engine hard.
I would get to it asap just because then they get old, they often shed little pieces of O ring into the main oil, etc, and you do not want to drive too long with the noisy lifter. There could also be other things that can happen that I can't think of right now...
Cheers,
Mike

Just a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1-10... But doesnt sound like it on the other side.
Not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate the information.
Now it looks like I will be replacing the lifters and engine temp sensor tomorrow.
