I recently installed a set of Stage IIIs in Velvet Black with matching tips. There are some pictures of the mufflers installed in my video, but they are not as good as Darin's since I don't have a lift.

I chose to ceramic coat for the heat absorption properties (no longer have/need the heat shields) and chose the black as a kind of homage to the aftermarket exhaust systems of the '70s, Abarth and Stebro - and Darin said black absorbs the most heat plus they match the black tips I also wanted.

My second choice would have been Cermachrome to maintain more of a stock look.

You get them coated to help keep the heat in the mufflers, & not on the car body, or engine. Ceramic coatings seriously lower the surrounding temp, & surface temp of things that are coated. So if you do the whole exhaust system, it will put more heat out the exhaust pipe vs around the rear & engine.

They also say, the more heat you keep in the muffler, the more scavenging you get, & it's suppose to give you a little extra HP.

I have my X-pipe & mufflers coated.
