Default Locating an old car? Can PCNA help?

I am trying to locate my Dad's first 993. He special ordered it in 1995 and got rid of it shortly thereafter in 1997. I have spoken with the person who bought it from us, and the person who bought it from him (Ken). Ken mentioned he sold it to someone and couldn't remember their name, but remembered where they had it serviced. I called the dealer and gave them the VIN of the 993...no luck...nothing in their system because it had not been serviced within the last 5 years. The service manager said he would contact PCNA to get more info...he said PCNA had no record. Any ideas where I should continue my search?

Run a CARFAX. It will show where the current registration is and you can call the local service shops in that area or contact the local PCA.

OK, this is interesting. Keep us posted how it goes.

Will Kent find the car? What is the current owner like? What condition is the car in? Will Kent's dad buy the car back? Will there be a reunion? How will this all turn out?

At the time, it seemed like a good idea to sell the 993 and get a 540i sport for hauling the boys around- 6 speed, it was pretty quick, a 4-door Porsche long before the Panamera. If you ask Kent, he and his brother didn't seem to mind driving it! Was a great car and we kept it for several years, even out of warranty!
I'll keep my first Porsche and it will stay in the family after I'm long gone, but there are a couple in my list I wish we still had. Kent will chime in about the 914-6- just don't ask him what happened to the engine WHILE he was driving it...

It will be nice to have another air-cooled car in the extended family stable one of these days, but I don't think it will be "original" 95... more later...keep tuned in...
