Default WTF Why just Europe?

I mean, it's a little pricey. But I absolutely hate the look of my Alpine head unit. However, I need the bluetooth and iPod connectivity...Hope this comes here.

I think I would get one as well. Can we not order from Europe?

It shows up in the Porsche USA website, but the copy says the nav database is EU only.

Navteq who makes the maps for Becker stopped updating the maps for USA some years ago, I think thats the reason . . .

Pelican has it for $966 (search for 91164519000). Not only is the navigation system for Europe only, I have a feeling it's a European radio tuner. So, just like the Beckers, no AM radio - no big deal for those of us who don't listen to talk radio.

Wow! Simplicity at its best! I think it's a matter of time when this radio system is introduced to North America. They're probably soliciting the mapping service aspect for NA and have yet to finalize a deal.

A downloadable Owner's Manual and Installation Guide would be nice to see if it is plug 'n play.

I'll stop by Porsche in Cologne and have a look at one next summer.

Wow that is awesome

I wish other automakers would do something cool like this to update their previous models...

JVC KD NX5000 is similar and works in the USA. I have one in another car and it works great. There are not many single DIN nav units out there.

My main concern in a 911 application would be the terrible glare off the screen. I bet you won't be able to see the display on sunny days..
