WTF Why just Europe?

I actually changed my mind on this new unit. It's ugly. Or it's not ugly but it's certainly not pretty. And what's more, it will never look period corect in our cars because the LCD screen wasn't available back then and the CDR-220 or the other units simply does not look the same.
I'm sticking with my Traffic Pro

Nope, it doesn't allow the FM band tuning that we need over here.

Viggo--- Best choice for period-correct look + electronic updates, IMHO. Before removing my entire stereo, that was my solution, too (Porsche OEM). Arguably the most appropriate look for a 993 married with the newest compatible technology, especially for what was available in the U.S. at the time.
P.S. Got your latest PM. Back at ya soon.
In addition to Bart's previous thread ^^, I'm reminded of the following...
Does anyone here own one of these beauties?
Looks like you might be able to get one in the US but certain features wouldn't work (like nav).
It'd look neat in a 993, but admittedly better in a 911 from the 60s or 70s.

Viggo,
It appears there is a Euro version of the TP. I stumbled on this version (with the AM script) that seems like it's a euro unit. There must be a Porsche or Becker labelled variant out there.

It looks like that is an Aston Martin unit? Interesting though. But the lack of radio doesn't really matter that much to me. It would be nice to have, but it's not 100% neccessary. I will be deleting the ugly roof antenna anyways this winter . Now I just need to set everything up with a set of nice front and rear speakers..
