I sure am happy with the Stage II's I purchaed from Darin. I installed them this weekend and WOW. What a great sound.
Now I just have to get someone to do a 'drive by' for me.
Nice work Darin!!

Congrats, Chuck! I decided to finally bite the bullet and went with the Stage IIIs after hearing lreeves993's at Porsche Palooza. I decided they weren't too loud and preferred the "stock" look of the Stage IIIs, even though I am having mine ceramic coated in black.

I lucked out and got a nice set of used mufflers off of Ebay at a decent price as I am keeping my stock mufflers in case I ever want to go back.

Dan-I heard that car as well and it sounded awesome. I really went back and forth on II's vs. III's. I'd be happy if I had gone either way. Since I was having to replace my catalytic converter and wasn't sure if I was going to go stock or 200 cell versions, I decided I should go with the II's.
I found a 'used' stock catalytic converter so I could have gone with the stage III versions but I'm not unhappy with my choice.

Chuck, that was one of my concerns, too. If I ever decide to go with 200 cell cats in the future, then the Stage IIIs will probably be too loud for me. That's why I am keeping my old mufflers. I also didn't want the "look" of the bypass pipe of the Stage IIs even though you really can't see them.

You can't see the mod at all especially on a lowered car with big oval tips

I love the gurgle and little bit of missfire when downshifting. Just make it a habit to keep my windows rolled down, that's all.

Very nice, Chuck. They completely transform the personality of the car. I'd like to hear IIs and IIIs side by side. Maybe next year at Palooza!

My muffs are out there now, figured it was a good time since the engine and tranny are out. I expect they'll be waiting for me when I get back from FL next week.

Chuck, did yours start out as Motorsound mufflers?

Hope all is well.

For Faack's sake, someone post a good comparo of these......Please, I'm tryin' to stay away from the "slippery slope" but, a new steering wheel and a set of Muff's with alittle attitude should be fine for now......I hope. This is a very cool forum! Thanks

Bill-I had RSR's but had to switch out because one was damaged. Darin's Stage II's have a better sound than my RSR's. And my RSR's weren't bad....

Darin,
Do your stage III's weigh less than stock? I have 2"LPMM with Dach X-pipes and was thinking of a possible change after hearing lreeves993 at Palooza.

Summarized info from another thread - note that die to slight differences in construction or scales used, it will be +/- a couple pounds.

Stock.......... 16 lbs
FSE Stg I.......16.2 lbs
FSE Stg II......14 lbs
RSRs...............11 lbs
OEM cats + muffs + tips = 25+34+3=62 lbs
OEM cats + RSRs + tips= 25+19+3=47
Sport cats + RSR's + tips= 16+19+3=38
OEM cats + Supercups = 25+12=37
Cat bypass + RSR's + tips = 7+19+3=29
Sport cats + Supercups = waaay too loud.
DACH Mufflers = 11 lbs each
DACH x-pipes ~= 11 lbs

Nice job Bart but the math doesn't quite add up. Unless the new math has 16 + 16 = 34 now and 11 + 11 = 19? I've been out of school for a very long time though.....

Ive got a set of B & B's that I dont love. Last email I got said that they could convert them to stage III's. Sounds like this may be my next step. Im sick of the "drone".
