Tjangi, what is your impression of the Promotive Stage 1 setup? If you compare to before the conversion, is there sigificantly more lag with this setup? Or is it more like a NA engine up (e.g good engine response, not much lag) until 4K when the turbo kicks in? I take it it's a single turbo setup..
Well I never driven a SC 993 car so not sure the drag delay between the two. Having said that, the Protomotive stage 1 setup alone is an improvement to stock.

I then also did the RS LWF mod, exhaust mod (straight pipe out of the turbos with 200 cel sports cats) and re-geared 3,4,5 and 6th gear. The result, no lag, a lot less backpressure and rpm stays within the power band during the gear shift.

So in summary, it seems that to fully maximize the proto conversion, one should do the LWF, exhaust and gear mods as well... IMHO

Gappy-- True ^^ but sold. See post #8:
OOps i missed that post. tks for the heads up

I should be getting my car back tomorrow. I went up and drove it the other day and all the changes made are amazing. Incredible low end torque with smooth power through the gears. I realized that I went a bit overboard and now have a hand fabricated SC/IC setup. I'm supposed to drive the car for a few weeks and take it back for final tweaking and dyno to get the end result numbers. Going from 215 ft lbs of torque to over 350 so far is a big change to me.

We've got a brand new 964/993 TPC kit in stock that I would be interested in selling for the first £5k firm. Probably not of a great saving over list for someone shipping to Texas, but you never know....

That is one of the older kits as evidenced by the water tank. Darn good price though. Also, it is like pulling teeth to get install instructions from TPC. (I have them if anyone wants them)

My setup is coming off the first week in Jan. Power is mind blowing and I am sure I will miss it, but it puts me in too high a class in autocross. Right now, I need to learn to drive the car and not the power.

Will be asking $5500 for supercharger with intercooler and piggyback. $2000 for '97 ECU tuned by Protomotive and turbo injectors.

Bob
