Default Door seal

Since thoroughly cleaning and replacing the door sill on the drivers side, I removed most of the glue that held the rubber door seal at the back lower corner. Now the door seal won't stay put in this spot. Is there a recommended adhesive for the rubber door seal? Wurth product?

When I was rebuilding vintage Mercedes, I know that there was an extremely strong auto adhesive that I used for the seals. This was much stronger than the usual OEM. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the manufacturer. I just wanted to mention it because there are a lot of adhesives out there and some are better than others. Hopefully, someone here will chime in. One of these better adhesives should solve your dilemma.

Thanks for the response. Is Pliobond hard to remove if I need to change the seal?

Pliobond is pretty tough stuff. The best product to remove it is MEK. Normal thinners and solvents like
3M Adhesive remover or enamel reducer will hardly touch it. Pliobond is the best adhesive to ose in this application.

It's the corner of a door seal, not the rear main seal. That jar of rubber cement that's been sitting in your desk drawer for five years will do just fine. If you have a lot of weatherstripping to glue down, get a tube of the 3M product (called Weatherstrip Adhesive) at your local auto parts store.

Sounds good, I thought maybe anything really strong would be too hard to remove when the door seal wears and needs replacing.

MEK, methyl ethyl ketone, is bad stuff--best not to mess with it.
