Yup. That was a pricey factory option. Rare.

Yeah. On my sticker it says:

CELLULAR PHONE-MARBLE CONSOLE $3134.00

The "marble" is marble grey. Amazing how much crappy cell technology cost back then.

They might be good if you could gut it out and add a navigation screen if you were into that sorta thing. But I don't think you can.

It DOES look a little dated...

You can totally gut it. It's just a piece of wood or something that the phone is mounted to and there's not much behind it.

And that thing looks totally state of the art... sitting in a box in my attic. And before anyone asks, no, it stays with the car.

Known as the "Bat Phone".

Wow, over $3K for a little extra leather, stitching and wood backing. Porsche really knows how to print money.

I got a black leather one that I will be putting up for sale in the classifieds. Perfect for NAV etc. Very well made piece. The hand stitching is beautiful.

I agree. There's slightly more to it than that though. It's a whole new fiberglass center console underneath. Not that THAT makes it worth 3 large.

Unfortunately no I don't. It looks pretty "bespoke" to me. I'd venture to guess there AREN'T any lying around anywhere. That being said, I think that Yuji (Warpman) found one in a Porsche parts warehouse a number of years ago and snagged it up for $100 or something ridiculous like that. So you never know.

I like the idea of gutting it and converting it to Nav. Could look nice if done properly. I think the OEM look's like someone made it anyway.
