I dont know much about the 'RSR' 993. What's the difference between that and a 993 turbo for example? How many were produced?

It would be easier to tell you what is the same There are so many differences...

None were officially produced for road use, they ran a 3.8l motor tuned to 360-370hp in endurance spec and 380+ as a sprint engine. Heads, Cams, Intake etc were all different from the 993 RS Engine management was also different many using the Zytec system from the UK.

It used bolt on flares like the 993 GT2 however is based on the NB car where the GT2 was based on the WB car. Rear wing is from the 993RSCS and front splitter is the same as the GT2. The cars weigh in about 2500lb and are a serious weapon.

Not sure of the overall numbers, there are a couple in Europe that are used on the street.

These are my absolute favorite version of the 993.....

I believe there were only a few factory originals built, 28 is the number I have heard tossed around. Here is another example that is also for sale but for less money. http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/po...65093526ss.htm

I think it would be better to buy a stock 993 4S and have 9Meister have their way with it. Porsche/911 World did a review of one a year or so ago and were wowed.

If you are that far down the slippery slope and don't care about the providence of a true factory RSR, just buy a GT3 cup car and be done with it. Water cooling has some serious benefits for racing in a warm environment.
