Default Body Shop @ Boston for my injured 993....

Had one of those afternoons... You know the kind.. Go out for a quick drive to Home Depot, to pick up some random stuff... Hell, just looking for an excuse to get out and drive ;-) ... As I pull out of my street, BANG.... i get clipped across the front. Everyone was fine, except for the 993.... :-( ... Luckily it drove home.

So with that said... I need a great body shop in Boston. Any recommendations? I live in Natick, so was planning on stopping by EPE to get Jerry's opinion as well.

I'm sure a knowledgeable RLer will chime in with relevant info soon. Sometimes these threads don't get too much action because nobody wants to look. Kinda like talking to another guy about a vasectomy.

Sorry to hear about the damage, hopefully the patient will have a speedy recovery.

Right across from old EPE on Cochituare Road is a little place called Final Finish. They are small but good. They do work for FMW (or whatever it's called now) on damaged new MBs, BMWs and Rolls Royces, they did work for us on new cars at Bernardi Audi some years ago. You can talk to this guys, you can contact me for some info as well.

Right behind them is Sansossio, these guys are very decent as well.

West Foreign Autobody is now Barry's Autobody. He was next door to Jerry at the old shop but IIRC he took over Jerry's old shop space and expanded.

BTW, Jerry's new shop location is very nice.

I had West Foreign Autobody (now Barry's Autobody) in Natick do a bumper re-spray to address some road rash for me. Barry was very easy to work with and although the it was a minor job, I was very happy with the results.

Heard good things about Vic's recommendation for Dick's as well.

The ones I've mentioned are actually across the street from old EPE and West Foreign.

Thanks so much for the updates.. Surprising how many posts are about local guys in Natick/metro West... Must be something in the water...

I think it looks worse then it is... Before... and after...

New bumper, fender, hood, corner light, air intake. All superficial, no big deal.

Document this with LOTS of photos. As Mike S. said this isn't a big deal but it will be a bit pricey so pictures will help at resale time.

Hi levtron. Did I see your car at the AX event today at Devens? If not, there was a car with very similar damage to yours. Hope you had a good day.

How much would a little shunt like this affect re-sale value?

A fair amount...since even one accident is looked at negatively as compare to none. It all depends on the person buying, but I have seen discounts from 5% - 15%. I think it also can increase the time it takes to find that right buyer, since its another issue someone will have to get over.

NSKD3, if you where @ devens, then yes. I thought I saw all the 993's, but must have missed yours. 'Any day on grid, is a good day'. Too bad it got rained out..

cocerning resale... Why would you sell??? ;-) but seriously, I do plan on documenting all the steps with photos. There is always the right buyer for every car.. The future owner of this car is walking around today, glancing at porsches as they drive by, thinking, ahh, one day.. So not worried ;-)..
