PD is not going anywhere. Strangely attached to that car......
I live right off the highway so we could have had a beer on your travels through.
(Cactus, too funny to see Mountville on your sig. Karen and I were going to Lancaster to see her Mom last Thursday night, and I see this "Mountville" sign on PA30. I told her some guy who posts a lot on Rennlist is from there. Didn't put both together until now.)

Next year then. Karen grew up in Lancaster, we try to stop in and see her Mom whenever we make it back East. This was a quick overnighter. Highlight is actually becoming dinner in York at a place we've found called Left Bank.

Congratulations on your newest acquisition!
Very nice that you found an unmolested specimen.
Too many of these cars end up in the hands of people who don't appreciate them for what they are, and ruin them in a misguided attempt to make them "better".
I am a member of that forum.
My user-name there is the same as here, Speedbump2.
Make sure you peruse the FAQs section, there is an incredible wealth of information there.
I absolutely love my 04 R32.
I can go out and buy a new dishwasher and throw it in the hatch to take it home on a Saturday, and then go to the track on Sunday.
It is very versatile, but, like the Jack of All Trades, it does many different tasks, but doesn't excel in any one of them. But I love it anyway.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
You're going to have a blast with it when the snow comes.
Its practically unstoppable - as long as it isn't so deep that you're plowing through it with the low front bumper.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Most people know very little about the car.
There were only 5000 ever built.
They were built on the same assembly lines as the Porsche Cayenne.
I think it's a good example of what can happen when they let engineer enthusiasts build a car.
My wife and most of my friends never heard of it, until they actually hear it in person.
I really like how VW opens the exhaust flapper at startup so you get a nice wakeup sound then closes to keep it mellow.
Kind of like a hello from the car.
Hit 45mph and 3200rpm and the exhaust opens up full time.
Perfect to keep the neighbors happy.
Only an enthusiastic engineering team would go thru the bother to design it.
Most of the drivetrain is right out of the Audi TT parts bin including the Haldex differential.
Super Smooth Vr6 motor, 6 speeds, 18 inch wheels and all wheel drive.
Lowered at the factory an inch or so and reduced lock to lock steering all in a small tight package.
Probably keep ours a long time, it has only 20k on it.
Should be a lot of fun with dunlop snows very soon here in New England.

I grew up just ouside of York on the Susquehanna River (small place called Saginaw). York used to be so small and old...It's hard to believe all of the growth over the past 20 years!
I'll have to try The Left Bank next time I visit home.
