In a somewhat related situation, i just purchased an E46 M3 as a DD. While not as powerful as the BB, it's the same type of car - a big, fast coupe. Like the BB, it's a porker with nowhere near the tactile feel of the 993. I really don't like it very much, but at least it's a 6 speed manual. At any rate, there's no way I'd dream of substituting the M3 for the Porsche.

The GT3 has it all - good A/C, great handling/steering feel, lots of power and a proper gearbox. However, in the end, it's up to you to choose what you like best.

BTW, you might want to look into getting some litronics if you keep your 993. They work really well.

Best of luck in whatever you choose.

Cheers,
Joe

I'd suggest driving a Black Series before drawing a conclusion.

993 and the BS.

fwiw, I've driven the CLK63 BS on the track (AMG Driving Academy) and it was a riot. I personally think a 993 and a BS will complement each other quite nicely with no sort of redundancy. I think you'll like the NA 6.2 liter motor. And soon there won't be any big displacement NA motors manufactured anymore. I have the 6.2 and it's really a sweet motor (it sounds good, too.)

I have driven the BS now 3 times, but always short test rides. None yet in a GT3. Even when that happens I don't think I will be able to tell much with short rides on congested streets and highways. I think it comes down to a certain leap of faith at some point.

Thanks for all the help.
