Default How i went from a 335 to an M3 to an S5 to a 997 C4S to a ...Very Long! Lots Of Pics

Hi Guys,
Where to begin...
Well i'll start by saying that i'm a huge car nut as most of you are and in 15 years of having my license i've gone through 12 cars.

In 2007 i got my first Bmw. A E92 335. Absolutely loved the car and i began to understand what all Bmw owners meant when they said they loved Bmw's .
It was a fantastic car and truly a little rocket. I chipped it and it became more of a rocket.
After about 1 and a half year of ownership i got a call from my dealer on a deal that i couldn't pass up. A E93 M3 . M3 was one of my dream cars growing up and so i jumped on it without thinking twice...
Absolutely loved the car. It was a convertible so a little heavy but that V8 made a beautiful sound!
After 1 year of ownership and 1 winter with it i have to say i really didn't want to go through another winter with it. I live in Montreal so winters here get pretty intense! Even with Studded Gislaved winter tires it didn't do the trick.
So i got rid of it in a flash and got into a S5 Convertible.
Now i went with a S5 because i heard only great things about Quattro and well i think the S5 is a hot car. Coupe more so then a Cab but i got a deal on the cab so i jumped on it.
My biggest mistake with this car was that it had the 7 Speed Dual Clutch S-Tronic tranny. Which is the only available tranny on the car.
Absolutely hated it.
I must admit going from a V8 manual monster to a Supercharged V6 with a "essentially" automatic transmission drove me nuts.
So i kept that for 5 months and got rid of it.
I have to admit that Quattro in Winter was amazing and had i gotten a coupe with a manual transmission i would probably still be driving it.

Here's where the Porsche journey begins...
In march of this year while getting rid of my S5 i found a ridiculous deal on a 2006 911 C4S Cab.
My ultimate dream growing up was a Porsche. And finally at the age of 30 i had the opportunity to have one.
Jumped on the deal and fell in love...
What a machine. Handled like a dream and the sound of the engine coming from the rear is to die for.
6 Months later here i am ... Someone made me an offer that i couldn't refuse on my car.
So i decided to get rid of it and get something else. But what?
The person who was taking my car decided to lend me his 1996 C4 Cab.
And it was instant love!! As much as i love my 997 there was just something special about this 993 C4 that quite frankly is in pretty bad shape , that i love.
So crazy me i went out looking for a 993.

Found a local 96 C4S in Polar Silver very well maintained and very well optioned.
So i decided to jump on it...
Right before leaving my office to go give a deposit on the car i stumbled on a 1997 Twin Turbo in Arctic Silver with less mileage at not much more money .
Went to see it right away and that was it!
Lest a deposit on that and will be picking it up within the next week...
When looking for a 993 i didn't consider a TT because they were too expensive.
But this one just fell on my lap!!
I keep on looking at the pictures of the 993 C4S in Polar Silver and the 993 TT in Arctic Silver and i honestly prefer the Polar Silver...
Can anyone comment on the colours and what your thoughts are?

So there you have it. I went crazy again and have no clue what i'll be doing this winter. I'm thinking of driving my 993 in Winter but only when it's not bad out. I mean it is AWD after all. I know clearance will be an issue that's why i will only partially drive it.

Can anyone comment on 993's. C4S Vs TT. After going through countless threads everyone seems to swear by the TT as the ONE!

Here are some pics of my cars and the C4S i was going to pick up as well as the TT i left a deposit on.
The TT is pretty dirty but it will be fully detailed so should be as new when i pick her up.

I'm an avid user on bimmerpost and have close to 3000 posts there. Great bunch of guys over there . This seems like a great community and hopefully the journey can continue over here.

All professional pictures were taken by a great photographer named Stephan Bauer.

Any advice comments are always appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Wow. You must like white!

Great pro pics.

The polar is the best silver for 993 IMHO. Its has a slight blue tint . Artic is fine. Youll be inside it most of the time :-)

Im not sure how long youll be a 993 owner (based on past average stats!), however youre starting at the top of the tree with a 410bhp TT and im sure you will find this an entertaining and rewarding vehicle to own. At least you wont have to worry much about depreciation....

Cheers

You do have the car bug. I love your taste. At 30 I had four 4 kids and a Toyota.

Congratulations on your new Porsche.

I'm probably in the minority and obviously prejudiced, but I prefer Arctic Silver and think it is the truer silver because of Polar's blue tint.

It's an oversimplification, but the C4S is basically a TT with over a hundred less horsepower and no tail (although it looks like the C4S you were looking at does have one). My guess is that turbo engine will increase your enjoyment of your car at least a hundred-fold. I have frequently thought about upgrading to a turbo myself.
