Default 993 Stone Guard cleaning/care

After my first autoX in my 993 a few weeks ago, which involved clipping a few cones, ( and my wife going all out and spinning) there are scuffs on both stone guards. Otherwise they are ok, not yellow'd or chipped.

how to clean off the scuffs? paint products?

They are fairly soft so you want to go easy, and depends a little if they are the clear or painted. Could try a clay bar first, see if that works. If not then maybe try gentle polishing with a cleaner type wax. Next step might be with a dual-action buffer on low speed.

I use Plexus Plastic Cleaner on mine. I think I got it at a car parts store.

Plexus is good, Meguiar's makes a cleaner and a polish, Novus is also a good brand. Don't use anything abrasive or it'll scratch 'em for sure.

Plexus is great, DO NOT USE SIMPLE GREEN ON THE CAR! It has the wrong PH, & does not wash off, it will corrode everything it touches over time. On clear bra, it can turn it from clear to opaque.

If plexus doesn't do it, use a light polish, either by hand or machine, it will work on everything, but what you can feel with your finger nail. But even then it will make it look better.

You can also try your favorite wax to remove the spots too.

Default We Have Purpose Made Products for Clear Bra Cleaning and Maintainance

XPEL Paint Protection Film Cleaner is designed to extract most environmental deposits such as tar, oil, hard water stains, bug acids and other contaminants from Polyurethane paint protection films. Its deep cleaning action restores the clear, glossy, freshly-installed appearance of the original film.

XPEL Film Sealant is an acrylic polymer product that is purpose-made for protecting any aliphatic urethane paint protection film. Attaching itself at a molecular level, the sealant forms a hardened barrier when exposed to UV light. By sealing off the pores in the film, the sealant will reduce absorption of pollutants, tar, and pollen; as well as staining due acid rain, hard water and bugs by 90%. Because this product is engineered specifically for Aliphatic Polyurethane, it is much more durable on Paint Protection Film than other waxes and polishes. Apply XPEL Film Sealant monthly for maximum protection.

I would not use some of the other products mentioned as they have the capability to yellow the film over time.
