Help with Child seat in a TARGA...
Does anyone know if the 993 targa has a High Mounting Point for the Child seat TEATHER Strap ( the single strap that attaches to the car above the Childs head )?
Also maybe know of a forward facing child seat that fits well?
Thanks Guys !

They don't come standard on the car. If you search the prior threads or on the DIY page on Robin's p-car.com site, there are instructions on mounting tether eyes using existing bolt holes on the rear firewall. You may also want to consider using harness mounts and the LATCH mounts rather than the car's seat belts to secure the carseat (there are lots of threads on this) as it is hard to get a snug fit using the belts unless you use a mighty-tite (which IMHO is not a good idea but others will disagree).
As far as carseats that fit, the Britax Roundabout seems to be one that a lot of guys have had success with given its small footprint.

Three Wheelin'
FWIW, I think the tether was required equipment in back seats beginning about '01 or '02 but in many cases you could get the factory equipment after the fact for that generation of car (so factory equipment doesn't exist for any car before about model year '98 or so)

Has anyone used those Breyhaus harnesses that you can clip the "Latch" belts into?

Hopefully these pics help.
I have tried the Britax Roundabout as well. It works, but I didn't like the way the lacth buckles fit the rennline harness mounts. Would fit better if a grinder was used to "break" the edge and radius the edge of the harness mount.
Works well with the LATCH attachment on the seat I have in there now.

I really think this is the only way to put a carseat in the rear (and possibly upfront too)....the configuration of the buckle makes it difficult to mount a seat securely and using a Mighty-tite to secure the belt is risky.

As for the Rennline..... what about the rear tether anchor? I cannot see it in the pic. Are they not required/used in the US?
As for the original question: my owners manual talks about Canadian cars being fitted with the anchors behind a plastic cap, centre above the seat, below the speaker. I had a 'quick' peak on my US car to see if there was anything up there behind the upholstery and didn't see anything existing.
