Not really @ $50 per offence, I've gotten to the point where every time I park I put the plate in the front window in the hopes that it will suffice. Doesn't look very good to me.

I have had this for years. Being a lazy bone, I never got around to installing it before selling my 993. It just popped up again as I was clearing out my garage.

I have to say though, not have a front license plate saved me at least twice from a speeding ticket. I was stopped a couple of times, and both times they wrote me a ticket for the missing front plate instead of actually giving me a speeding ticket. And both times, the cops made a couple of rounds around the 993 and commented what a nice car it was.

I figured that not having a front license plate somehow gave them an "out" to give me a lesser ticket...

But nowadays, if they are trolling parking lots to write tickets, I guess that's a different story.
