Anybody whom is serious about this ducktail for a "split grill" install on their widebody 993 then the first response gets one for half price as this will save us having to go out and buy the grill simply for pictures which would be a false economy <-- Free shipping also included

Very cool project! Love especially the rear bumper.
Since you're so handy with fiberglass, why not cut the whole roof off and make it out of fiberglass (with the bubbles)?

just spoke with Arnaud last night and caught up with him about this car. My Dad, "skl" was the original owner of this car. I had been searching for it for about a month to buy it back! Looks like its off to a new place...and I am excited to see what it becomes. Pretty funny that a car which was ordered in Des Moines, Iowa is now in the UK getting turned into a 993 sport classic

That's where it went!!!!
I'm sorry for you not being able to be reunited, but what a small world that the car is still involved with Rennlist.
Now how about some updates on the battle ship?

no news here, sad to say. I have been looking..on and off for another split grill to use, instead of taking mine apart to put into the ducktail-should one ever arrive that is.

That is really weird seeing pictures of the car I specially ordered back in 94-95- I remember being on a family vacation at the Grand Canyon and hearing the car had come in... 3 years later we needed some more rear seat room for our growing boys and the 993 would morph into a 540i sport.
Loved those 993 sport seats- just remember even with the 030 suspension it looked like it was ready to go off-roading. Never understood why they couldn't bring it here in ROW ride height.
Fun to see this car being brought back from the dead!

Hi Gents
Firstly sorry for the lack of updates again on my part ... unfortunately this has been due to the fact that I was struck down with the H1N1 Swine Flu virus and after several weeks I'm still not fully recovered but out from the worst of it and getting my energy back
Next week I intend on jumping back into full swing on the project which I’m looking forwards to and glad to see that the weather is slightly warming up again over here in the UK.
I’ve just noticed that many of you have sent me PM’s so I promise to respond back to all today and tomorrow
I’ll be back next week hopefully with some solid progress pictures.
Unfortunately as this update post from me lacks pictures, below I’ve added some pictures of Jos’s Open Rekord project which I introduced earlier in this thread. The car is looking truly spectacular and features some nice custom mods:
In the meantime I hope we all had a great Christmas vacation and Happy New Year
Best regards,
Mark
