Look for a thread titled "LSD Buster" over in the 997 GT3 forum. It gives you extensive information on rebuilding the stock LSDs. And thankfully for you 993 guys, if it's an NA car it's generally got pretty good ramps in it and that's not required as part of the service.

You should also be aware that there are two different LSDs that were used in 993s. '94 and early '95 still used a ZF LSD. To my knowledge, this LSD can be installed in a 5spd G50 and still have the proper trigger points for the speedo drive. You don't want to try to put the later GKN LSD into a 5spd box.

Guards will charge 900 usd for plates and 150-200 for a new ramp (which would have been needed on this unit to get ideal accel/decell locking % for 2WD car). So if you pay 500 for this unit plus shipping then around 1600+ all up. Brand New Porsche Motorsport 40/65 is 1900 usd plus shipping. Brand new OS Giken around 1990 usd. New Carbonetics around $1550-$1750 usd. New guards with their own case (very nice) around 2500.
Cheers
