Default Is this Speedster for real?

Saw this at Concorso last weekend, is it for real?
As far as I know there are only 2 993 Speedsters in the world, neither is Red.

Not a porsche expert , but I doubt it. I didn't think they made a 993 turbo speedster.

I think that's Jager's AKA Curve Lover car. If so, it's not "real", but it is real nice.

Bruce-- I saw that in the parking lot, too. Got any more pix? There was a Bugatti Veyron parked next to it when I left. Glad to see that grocery-getter didn't leave any of its paint on this 993!

EShaun-- You out there? Get any shots with the 'Bug?'

Was wondering the same. Got me fooled.

It's not their fault; the other two are still nice cars.

I talked to the 918 Spyder's Project Mgr; he's a 993 Speedster fan ... standby

At first I was like, "'78 w/ a body kit?" & then it was like, "whu dat?" but then I was all, "Oh, ERIK" so, of course now I'm all "BWAaaa haa haaah! ha ha."

Totally.

Of course it's a fake. Kinda got close to it last year, and I was pretty sure it's built off on a Bug floor pan............................................. Owner's a piece of work, too!

(Sorry I missed you guys this year, but we had the Mother Of All BBQs Saturday halfway down there.)

Ken-- Don't get too close, could have a bug infestation.

Bet it takes a lot of skill to make a VW Bug into a '78 SC into a 993 into a Speedster.

No wonder we got along so well

No worries, happy to see you recently showing Tim some American hospitality & his first MLB game; well done

Some familiar & some new faces at Tarpy's Roadhouse this year, it's always been a blast -- good groups from RL & Pelican Parts on Friday. They got the party started while Alf, eShaun, & I ran late, viewing the 918 Spyder.
Saturday, a GT2 owner saw me leaving Laguna Seca & followed Alf & I to Tarpy's, just to say he had read the "Excellence" magazine feature on my car four times, & that it looked even better in real life. I invited him to dine with us & the BMW Club, who generously bought dinner. They know how to appreciate an old VW Bug Great time

Bruce-- Good pix on your "Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, get together on Saturday the 14th?" thread, especially of your dad in the Bugatti Veyron, parked right next to the 918 Spyder prototype!!!

I'll ad this:
I overheard a guy's wife say this to him as they were looking at the interior of my 912 at the Rendevous car show "Looks just like my old Karmann Ghia!" ....

Uh, not really. Remember anyone specifically? Our 300ish member local list is heavily slanted BMW club racers, and the administration that puts the GGC Chapter events on. A couple have had 911s/Porsches (founder of the list had a C2S he bought new, and now has a Cayenne), but usually my discussion of 911s v. "other stuff" devolves into ribbing about me "talking about those POS air cooled cars again"..........

Ken-- Totally different group -- these guys would have renewed your faith in Bimmer enthusiasts. This was the newly-formed & highly enthusiastic BMW Club of Columbia. They were fawning over Alf's rare Alpina. It was definitely a big BMW luv-fest, & understandably so. Like I said, it was a great time, & everyone was interacting with everyone.

The GT2 owner I invited turned out to be an amazing dude, & held court all night, answering the Bimmer owners' questions about his Porsche collection. In person, I don't especially talk a big game about my car (hard to believe, eh?) with strangers -- I'd rather learn what they have. They were a little underwhelmed at the table about my 993, which is fine -- they were politely interested. When we walked out to parking lot, though, it became a different scene as soon as they saw Speedy ... a Porsche love explosion.

The fun continued as we hit the hightway. When I eventually split off, the BMWs made a point of honking & waving. Their zeal for life & all German rarities was abundantly clear the whole evening.
Ya shoulda been there, Ken! Great people, great time
From the Legends of the Autobahn homepage, here's some of the BMW Club of Columbia:
