IMHO, it's the 1st exciting model since 993s -- luv the curves!
Also luv Carmel, where even sitting still, a parked car looks fast - the trees & buildings bending as she 'speeds' by

Porsche 918 Spyder prototype's USA unveiling

^^ More 918 goodness to follow, but I have to drop Speedy off soon for a show, she's been asked to be on display at tonight's McCalls Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center.
RLer Porschemeister & I will be there. Anyone else?
FYI, my current schedule (posted on the "Submit Photos for 2010 Calendar - Information Here!" thread):
- Tue noon - 1:30 PM @ Carmel Concours
- Tue 3-5 PM private viewing of 918 Spyder prototype
- Wed PM at McCall's Motorworks Revival (Jet Center social)
- Thu noon @ Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance (Carmel)
- Thu PM @ Baha Cantina's Carmel Grill & Filling Station
- Fri all day @ Legends of the Autobahn (includes Porsche Club this year)
- Fri PM: Tarpy's Roadhouse RLer get-together (like last year's)
- Sat all day @ Laguna Seca Raceway; tried to get a Porsche corral parking pass, they were out
If you know of an unused Porsche corral parking pass for Speedy, PLEASE PM me before Saturday!
All tentative.

Don't have much planned other than PB Concours on Sunday morning and the Mecum auction on Friday night.
Keep posting your where-abouts, etc and tips for us common folk. Work necesitates (sp?) bringing my laptop, I'll be sure to check RL each morning to see where I should be headed.

Weather: best to use your computer, etc. for latest Monterey forecast. Highest this week's been ~65, & locals tell me this is the warmest weather all summer. Clouds almost all day, but wonderful breaks of sunlight. Evening & AM coastal conversation.
Speedy's top's been dropped the entire time here. It's been a unique experience (I'm not used to consistently, low clouds without rain) & it's been perfect!
I'm living on fumes, but happily in a Porsche trance -- it's been great hanging here with RLers around other incredible people & cars. Just not enough time to sleep or post on RL; good problem to have.
Running late to make Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance.
More pix, stories later. In the meantime:Apparently Porsche heaven has 21" & 22" staggered wheels, IIRC from what PCNA's Product Mgr of Sports Cars told me last night:

Excellent photographs!! I wouldn't think twice about going down there for these events except for the way that accomodations are priced in the area, they're out to gouge you.
