Mrsulivan, my initial post was a simple comment on how I felt after going out of my way to try and work with a fellow Rennlister and an inferrence that you can't be a serious buyer if that is how you treat a seller. I was at a family Birthday party Sunday afternoon and was the first to leave as it was running late and I had promised to be home to take your call. So yes, having done that and then seeing you here on-line both Sunday and Monday nights, did **** me off as you could have easily used that time to make the call you said you would. Your response was one to call me names (Psycho) and then rant on about how we didn't have a "contract". In my world, my word is as good as a contract. I've bought and sold more cars than most here and have a pretty low expectation in general, however I have always felt that fellow Rennlisters should go the extra mile to help one another out. It was your name calling that "pissed me off" and anyone that does that to me can expect a no holds barred response. I wouldn't waste anymore time trying to sell you my car and I'm sure you wouldn't want to buy it, so we are done and this thread can die as far as I am concerned. I won't be making any further comments on this topic.

Zedder -
We will have to agree to disagree. I found your first post very insulting and unecessary after what was a simple and very preliminary PM exchange where I said "let's talk, send me your number, maybe tonight?" Believe me, my word is my bond too. And if I had confirmed a time, number, etc. with you we would have talked then. Not that I am an expert, but if you want to sell your pristine low mileage C2S at a premium, you might consider not insulting potential buyers at such a drop of the hat.

Again, apologies. May this thread RIP. Hopefully next time I post it will be with pictures of a car.

To end on a positive note, we do agree on one thing - Rennlist is a very special place.

Mr. Sullivan:

Have you tried Dave Maynard at European Locators. He is based in the Boston area and his firm is in the business of finding Porsches for people who have very specific things in mind. Dave has a very good reputation. http://www.europeanlocators.com/

Richard Sloan (www.sloancars.com) also usually has a bevy of some of the best, low mile stuff anywhere (but priced accordingly). He appears to have a silver/black with 25k mile in inventory for $60K. http://sloancars.com/557/1997-993-ca...k-24112-miles/

No affiliation in either case.

I spoke to both when looking for my car and picked Dave....the other option left me with an uneasy feeling.

BTW...what is a "premium price" for a low mileage C2S?

This group can be very "special" at times...and that is not always a good thing...but most of the time it is a great group of people.

The way I see your post is either you are desperate to sell or desperate to talk to someone. So now, from your post, you'll either attract low ballers, lonely people who just want to chat or just scare people off entirely. In any event, it's fun to watch.

I politely indulged your request as I think you are a serious buyer and would like to sell my car. So I kept the kids off of the phone knowing you would be calling long distance and not wanting to WASTE YOUR TIME as I said I would be home for the call. I checked on-line a few times during the evening and sure enough you are on Rennlist...same as this evening. So please, lose the attitude and admit you are the epitome of tire kickers..."Oh, please everyone, help me find another car. I've been trying oh so hard..." Wah, wah, wah. It's been the same story with you for years on Rennlist.

As for you buying my car...Hah! You personalities won't let you pull the trigger, Sybil.

Anything above $60,000 in this market....especially if it does not have sport seats, a host of really special options and really low mileage...in my opinion.

I agree - I have 20K on mine and I KNOW it is worth less than that.

Jonathan- you should also try www.craiglook.com. I've used all of them, and like this one the best.

Good luck!

In the current environment anything over $45K for a C2S is a premium, in my opinion. However, the condition, mileage, and options can contribute to that premium. Now the question is what is your definition of "low mileage". I saw someone on RL refer to their over 40,000 mile 993 as "low" mileage. I personally consider low mileage to be anything under 30K.

I disagree on the $45k opinion mostly because I own one.

I think the difference between 30 and 40k is pretty immaterial. For e.g., 30K means a 97 C2S was driven 2200 miles per year as opposed to 2800 for a 40K mile car. I don't see that being a significant difference. Neither example will warrant a "collector's premium"...Maybe in 5+ years, or more.

The cars that sell for north of $60K all seem to have less than 15k miles, or even less (and those with less than 10K miles seem to fetch super-premium prices (High $60's and beyond).
