UGH! Car molested by Soccer Mom
So, I head off this afternoon to pick my daughter from her summer camp program. I pick the farthest spot in the lot, although in the very back corner...no one around. Come out after picking her up and notice the lot has filled up a bit. I then look across to where my car is and realize I cannot see it. It's completely obscured by a mammoth Toyota Sequioa. Looks like every panel on it is either scraped or dented. As I walk closer, I noticed it's parked so close to my passenger side, I cannot open the door far enough to get my daughter in. I do a quick peek for door dings and it looks okay. We walk around to get in the other side and here comes soccer mom. No apology for wedging my car in. She proceeds to open the door with little care, jump in, and take off. I get home and inspect the passenger side again and there it is....nice fresh door ding. A$$hats like this should be forced to drive SMART cars where they can do less damage to others.
Fortunately, it appears it can be completely removed by paintless dent removal. But, it's still hassle.

I was sitting in my almost new Jeep Wrangler in a shopping mall lot in Tampa . My wife had run in for just a moment. I had the seat back and was snoozing when a woman wheeled into the empty double space beside me. She slammed into the rear corner and jolted me to attention. She was getting out of her car as I approached her and told her she had hit me. She was dumbfounded . When I showed her the mark on the plastic bumper and the matching mark on her car. Guess what!! She then insisted it was partly my fault because I was parked too close to the yellow dividing line. I then demanded her insurance info. I got a call from her husband a day later He sent me a check to avoid it going to insurance. If you park by "feel" you shouldn,t get/have a license ,smart car or otherwise.

I told my 6 yr old daughter to always be on the lookout for 'moms' driving in suv's/minivans in parking lots due to the fact those women are on their cell phones telling anyone who will listen about what a great deal they just got at the store. As a result they are not fully paying attention and are more apt to run over/into something or someone.

One trick to use is to park across the parking lot lines - generally people keep within them so you get half a space either side. Of course you do get called an idiot for doing so, but maybe it'll save some dings.
You could put a child seat in the car and park in the extra wide parent bays I do that, but I usually have children with me

Sometimes parking 'far away' isn't the answer. My wife and I just did this yesterday at a local grocery in her car, not the 993. Came out 1/2 hour later and one of the employees (most likely) parked right next to us with a dented 'duct taped' piece of crap. I've been slowly switching to my new thinking of looking for a new clean car in the lot or a well maintained sports car (Camaro, 370Z, anything decent), and park next to them. They probably are a bit more alert and caring about the cars around them. Vans, SUV's not a chance!
