Sad like I was when I was a young punk in the '70s, and didn't have the dough to buy one of those cheap Corvettes back then.

Now I'm an old punk and don't have enough dough to buy a cheap Ferrari.

Or is there such a thing as a "cheap" Ferrari???

AutoTrader and be patient. Enthusiast sites like here and Pelikan may be negative for a tip but I think it will be less the case at AutoTrader.

can't be too cheap, i hear the belt changes are about $15K...i hope that includes much more??? is that really true???

I can't speak to anything beyond the 308/328 era, but my friend did his in his garage without too much trouble.

I explored the potential of 308/328/348 ownership (briefly) in my pre-Porsche days, and I think it's a similar cost relationship as in our cars when you work on it yourself vs. paying someone to do it. The difference is, a lot fewer Ferrari owners do their own work, and the $$ numbers are more dramatic. Depending on the labor market rate where you are, I kept hearing prices of $3000-4000 for a 30K service and $6500-$8000 for a 60K. I was told the 60K cost is hard to mitigate - it's a mandatory "engine out" because the engine needs to be resealed (Ferrari routine maintenance! ). And of course, the 308/328's are getting pretty long in the tooth, and bad things have happened when the owner didn't renew every bit of perishable fuel system pieces. A considerable added expense.

In between those services, Ferrari owners insist that their cars are no more costly than anything else out there.

the tip is going to be the issue --- very limited market. 22-28k i would say. 28 if you want to wait for a very long time and 22 if you want to wait less. less than 20 if you don't want to wait at all.

Yep, I agree.

I agree TIP will limit the buyers interested. But if you're patient you should be able to get $30k+ in my opinion.

My Brother-in-law recently purchased a very clean 95 C2 Tip with 57K miles for around $28K. Car had BilsteinHD/M030 and a long list of factory options/up grades. Silver/black; did need 60K service and brake master cylinder, and will need door check in the future.
So I'd guess the value of your car at $25 to $35, depending on condition, upgrades, etc..

1967 was the last year for that body which makes it a premium seller. Plus that car is 43 years old and there are probably far far fewer left in even driver condition then 993's out there. They're not really comparable in the market place. I think fair value on your car is 30 to 32, just my opinion on FV.
