Default Interior mods....Carbon, Paint, and other bits...

Been busy offline - but not doing much track work at all this year - (read no money / divorce)

Havent been driving the car much either - BUT have been spending some nights doing bits and pieces.

Just got an INVITE to attend the 20th Anniversary of Mequiars in AU and the 10th Anniversary of MotorEx - Custom car show.

They have never done a "Hot Euros" division before and their usual attendee is Street Machine or Muscle Cars. (ricers too )

www.motorex.com.au

My car got a call up and this has pushed me to finish some of the outstanding bits - mainly on the inside. I dont harbour dreams of winning (after all i dont have airbrushed skulls or a multi coloured theme on the car - but will be prob the only Porsche in attendance.

Anyway some shots of the interior mods....

Thanks to Darren Fister - an awesome job like always!!

Also painted the heat shields and new hardware - cant wait to mount and start them up!!

I love how the Porsche OEM stuff polishes up so well!!

Hi there full boost. Im really interested in the CF foor top caps you have running the length of the door near the glass. Could you tell me where you got these and if possible how much $$$$?

Love the work!

Cheers

Macca,

They aren't Carbon - but a carbon material i sourced through a guy in the US. (does BMW stuff IIRC)

I have had lots of fun trying to shape this material on the relative bits - concave SUX (under the handbrake for example) - but the door tops were easy..... It has a very MATTE finish - I am just not a fan of the shiny carbon.....

Its a DIY job with a few simple tools (lucky for me)

I will try and find a better pic.

Simon.

Edit : Try that?

Hi Simon.

Gotcha. Thanks for that. I contacted that same supplier a while back about the same product for my e39 M5. Its a carbon fibre cloth not impregnated. A great DIY idea....

I have seen an impregnated/gloss part on the web somewhere in the past but never for sale by a supplier/retailer so hence my Q.

Car looks very agressive. Love it. Must be one of the most modded 993s (RHD) I know of in OZ....congrats!

Cheers

I also really wanted to brighten up the now dark interior.

Red belts, some bushed silver style paint new mats.

Also wanted to tidy up the steering wheel surround - the issue is that when you pull the std wheel off you can see all the internal bits - where the rear of the wheel was moulded to fitt. And an off the shelf solution - an RS shroud wont work as the Turbo has OBD II also cruise control (which i still use- when driving to the track over 2 hours away).

Its a pain in the *** (for example it took me over 4 hours do do the handbrake cover - EACH time (and it took me 4 goes to get it right.......yes 16 hours!) but look great when done - I think.

So i took a dremel to a perfectly good RS shroud and then covered it in carbon...

Haygee,

Contact Darin @ FD Motorports - they are a sponsor and do the BEST work.

http://www.fdmotorsports.net/

I did all of the ancillary bits myself - but I'm sure Darin will fix you up!

The carbon looks great in your car. Did you say you sourced this out of the US?

Was that thing a narrow body and you added the GT arches - like Thatchers car ?
Man - I want my car to look like that.
Nice.
