I paid the long price for this mod. Listening to the dam wing go up and down constantly, drove me crazy. If you have the same foibles this is a great improvement.

fwiw, I think the RUF module could possibly be one of those issues where if you don't have one, you might not understand why it's worth getting. You don't see or hear the spoiler (although I can see it out the rear window.) It's partly psychological if you simply don't like the idea that the thing is constantly going up and down.
After getting one, I realized how nice it was to have. And eventually replacing that cheap plastic air dam so many times can add up to the price of a RUF module.
Anyway, it's mod that's similar to a lot of subjective mods people do to their cars. No real reason to question why or tell others it's worthless. Like all mods, it's worthwhile to some and obviously not to others. I personally like to spend money more often on functional mods over visual cosmetic ones, while others might prefer looks first.
And if your OEM module ever fails, I think it's worth getting the RUF since a factory replacement is very similar in price.

If it starts to sound like a coffee grinder, then you can fix it by replacing the bearing within the spoiler gear.
