Three Wheelin'
the speedster or one exactly like it, was in Dana Point, CA for the PCA Zone 8 Concour. I did not think that there were that many 993 speedsters out there. 2 - 4 ???

Shaun-- Incredible images! Thanks for that weekend, & hanging out recently in Monterey
Alvin-- It was a thrill to meet the man behind that "Crazy 993!"
Nick-- You & your 951 enjoy Monterey, CA, this month as planned?
What makes you think I'm any influence on him? I know I wouldn't if I had a 9M facility nearby (hint, hint)
Mark-- My fault, man Last-minute idea worked out for quick trip from SoCal to the Bay.
A Cali trip ain't the same without ya. You'll be first to know if I make it back. If you make it "uphill" here in the meantime, I'm buyin'
Very glad U like the wheels

Glenn-- The factory presented one to F.A. "Butzi" Porsche.
As told to me by Seinfeld's experts when I talked Speedsters with Jerry last year at Laguna Seca: he shipped his 993 back to Porsche at ~1,000 miles to be converted to a Speedster. (I ran into his broker this year, too, & was flattered to get several calls & texts afterward. <---- Yeh, I'm guilty of name-dropping; please forgive this vice, as they're the only celebrities in my Speedster-obsessed world )
I've flown overseas to inspect other impressive 993s, but have never confirmed more than one still exists that was originally delivered from Porsche as a Speedster, despite rumors by respected Porsche enthusiasts / experts. I hope I'm wrong, & am soon invited to see others in person.
Thanks for your question; hope I helped. Many more details on the following threads:
- "Speedster type 993 photo thread" (includes links to builds by RLer GrahamPeterM's & more). Plz consider posting any follow-up ?s there.
- "Rennlist/ PCA member's 993 SPEEDSTER"
- "993 Speedster at Porsche Museum (Restoration Workshop)"
