Here are some of my pics from our short road trip up to Mena, Arkansas this past weekend. I met up with Craig Mabrey (3.2 Carrera), Dan Mar (Silver 993), and Brian Shiu (Black Turbo 993) in North Dallas. We drove up to McAlester, OK where we met up with Travis Collyar (Silver 993 Cab), and his friend Luke (Red Boxster). Friday night we took a quick 90 mile trip east of McAlester and had dinner in Krebs, OK at an Italian resturant called Pete's Place. Good food with some good people but the waiter wasn't so friendly. Saturday morning had us heading east to Mena, AR via scenic highway 63. We stopped along the way and picked up Dave Coats with his beautiful red 993. This is when the fun really started. We drove some amazing roads that followed the ridgetops west of Mena. We stopped a few times to take some pictures. The scenery was incredible but we seemed to pay more attention to the cars than the beautiful landscape that surrounded us. Dave almost had a run-in with a rather large black bear the ran across the road, but luckily there was no carnage. We had lunch in Mena and then headed south to Texarkana where we the Arkansas boys when north and the Texas boys when south. The trip put another 763 joyous miles on the car and I can't wait to do it again. I thank rennlist for allowing me to meet some great people to share these drives with.

Thanks for sharing, looks like you all had a great time on those terrific Arkansas scenic roads! Did Travis exceed any of the posted speed limits?

Originally our trip was planned for May, but that weekend brought severe storms and we had to cancel. Many others couldn't make the rescheduled date. But we still had a great time.

Great write-up! We indeed had a blast ripping up southwest Arkansas. Many thanks to BufordTJ for putting this together.
