Pure Marketing genious as I'm sure this video has gone viral by now. But gotta say he's got *****!

June 21st at Road Atlanta. What should Porsche CEO do? Acknowledge the challenge? Or just ignore it?

I have met Jim, and he is a "no fear" type of guy. This is a no lose for MINI. If he wins, which is unlikely, he will compare the time difference to the $$ difference. The closer he gets the more he can move people to the MINI brand.
I, too, have a MINI as my daily driver, and sometimes on weekends. It is a great car and loads of fun to drive.

Probably good PR for Porsche as well, regardless of the outcome. We're not talking bragging rights at Nurburgring here. Also, I find it highly unlikely that Porsche would lose any sales to Mini as I don't think there is any cross shopping going on here. Some owners may have both, but few if any can only afford one or the other (assuming they are in the market for a Porsche).
Sure, it's a win-win for Mini, but not exactly a "lose" for Porsche either.
I'm sure Porsche already knows what their "driver" will do at that track in a 911. And they probably already have a good idea what a Mini will do.
I say the Porsche folk show some soul and accept the challenge, then give the Mini a few lengths from a standing start (based on a calculated photo finish). Maybe do best two out of three standing start laps?
Sounds like an entertaining way to burn money.
