Option Code sticker replacement
#91
Actually most owners, (like me 15 years ago) when they first bought their cars noticed a fairly ugly and grimy and wrinkled white tag every time they opened the hood. So (like me) peeled it off and tossed it.

The fact is that most of the guys on this thread are long time owners that want to return and keep their cars as original as possible. Its one of those little detail things that fussy owners want to have right.

Is anyone still doing these reproduction options stickers? Mine are missing from all possible locations; I'm chalking it up to "amiss sales guy issue" or maybe the original owner didn't want stickers on his car. I have a 996.1 Cab and already paid for the Suncoast VIN lookup for what options I have. Now I just need the stickers to put back on the frunk and service booklet.

I am definitely having the reproductions made. My under-trunk-lid sticker is very faded and near impossible to decipher. (see pic). Maintenance book missing when I bought this car. Digital recovery methods were ineffective, so I carefully removed it, then sat at my desk with a flashlight in one hand and a magnifying glass in the other, doing a slow-motion bob and weave until I could make out all the printing. Obsess much? Anyway, along the journey I observed the following:
1. After studying several 996 Turbo stickers I find that:
2. No more than 3 rows of options are ever printed. (not including the Porsche Exclusives (09991, 00051, etc.)
3. The country code is in top-left position, then "X" options, then three-number options, all in alphabetical order, left to right, top to bottom. "X" option codes with 3 letters come before the numbered versions (X50, etc.)
4. Some option codes are different or missing from the COE. This was significant in my case.
5. Careful searching yielded great results.
My car is heavily optioned, so no 3-number options are even shown, threw me at first. Anyway hope this info can help someone.....
Cheers

Under hood sticker
Hi, do still make the underwood sticker. ? I have the print out of option form porsche dealer that I can mail you . Thank s kennie
In someone needs a underhood new sticker, I could do a new one very close to the OEM. Not 100% exactly but using similar font, the same label sticker size, you could get it, if you have the maintenance book with all the codes/VIN, etc.
It couldn't replace the OEM as a true copy, to sell the car or act as a fake.
It's just for yourself, if the car lost or was repainted.
Just PM me

Me too. I forgot to post a follow up, but I received my stickers awhile back, and I'm satisfied as well. Funny thing, I decided not to install the stickers on my hood because I read somewhere that sometimes the dealer sales guys were supposed to do this as part of the sale, but sometimes they did not, or sometimes customers had them removed. Not knowing what was done with my car, but given that my car is pristine, I'm leaving them off but in a safe spot for future use. That said, if the old sticker would have been present, I would have removed and reinstalled the new ones, since they appear so acurrate, I couldn't believe anyone could actually tell a difference.
I haven't cared so much about stickers since my Trapper Keeper collection of scratch-and-sniff back in 1984 when I was 6, lol...

Hi, it seems I am reopening older topic but could someone advise me where to find the "SORT.NR." that is specified on the option code sticker? My car is Porsche 944 from 1984 sold in Austria first. The service book sticker lacks this info which I need to recreate missing option code sticker. All help appreciated

I agree, I thought the same as far as authenticity. My 993 has no sticker under bonnet, it’s in the manual. I also read somewhere that it could appear in rear seat compartment.

Much more authentic looking with the correct fonts and colors. Submit your order and they will contact you within 2-3 days with a photo proof for you to approve before they print it. Once you approve the artwork, they will print and ship it via DHL express to you within another 2 days.
7-10 days total, door to door.
