Paul:

FWIW, when I upgraded to PSS10's, I kept my stock drop links.

See you on the 12th?

Paul.

The HD rear drop links are ~ 25mm shorter than stock links ..... without the correct links, there is a good chance of having the bar interfere with the rear arm of the LCR ( 'A' arm).
The only way to avoid that is to raise the suspension height to SUV levels - which generally defeats one of the objectives of doing the suspension upgrade.

Are you talking about the little plastic ring thingy? I couldn't get it squeezed in there either, so I went without.

Make sure you get the lock ring to drop link mount really tight. Once I got mine shock on the car I used a screw driver in one of the notches and a rubber mallet to make sure it was locked down. After on the car to make sure the drop link mount was in the right position.

One more thing, I saw your note about the springs not touching when there is no load. I noticed this more on the rear. You can tie the top of the spring to the top cap with a piece of wire and running it up through the rubber piece that comes down the spring. You need to do this before you mount the shock.
