I think he's got a pic there of an "engine case" vs. a crankcase alright.

Tell me about it.

One of those cell phone yapping inbreds put me in the hospital for two weeks, wrote off my motorcycle and wrecked my vacation.

Now do you really want to know how I feel?

The cell phone, texting, blackberry have become a very serious problem. In October, and then again in December, I was rear ended in my LEASED BMW. Rear bumper was replaced twice with some other trim pieces. The body shop did a double take when I returned. I now switch lanes when I see someone on my tail while they are being distracted by some device.

More like a disease!

Just over a week ago I happened to be second in line at a traffic light (twice) behind this Honda Civic.

When the light turned green, it took them a while to get going; I think they were waiting for a particular shade of green. The driver had their head down in the lap.

I finally got fed up and passed them in the right lane as one so often needs to do on this continent. Sure enough, the inbred woman was texting. I think I am going to start to carry stones with me and toss them at those driver's cars.

Here in my area it seems that the ratio is greater with more women being distracted while texting, dialing etc.. while driving.

They say that one of the most dangerous things on the road is a woman using the phone while driving an SUV!

I was recently run onto the shoulder on the curvy west side Richmond Bridge approach by a woman who was texting while trying to navigate that mess in her Volvo XC 90. I saw her swerving from one side of her lane to the other and I thought she was drunk, so I went two lanes over to her left to pass, that's when she hit a dip and a curve, crossed three lines of cement turtles and almost hit me. When I honked at her she looked at me like 'What??'

I always thought women are more cautious than men and tend to go out of their way to avoid potentially dangerous situations. So what happens when they get behind the wheel? Does some chemical imbalance occur inside their pretty little heads when they smell the combination of leatherette and gasoline?

Here in Vancouver, we have completely banned the use of electronic devices on cars. No talking on celphones, no texting, no iPods, no laptops. $167 fine and three points if you get caught. You can take a "graduated licensing program" which allows you to use the phone but only if you have bluetooth and use pre-programmed numbers (no dialing or looking at your phone).

It's not convenient but I like it. I no longer have to deal with distracted drivers and I get to go "off-line" while I'm commuting.
