That it is and it is nicely made, but their welder needs a lot more practice welding thin metals to thick metals...burn-through! BTW, thanks for the fire extinguisher & mount recommendation.

There is no reason for them to even weld that spacer/reinforcement to the mount. It could have been a separate part held in place by the fasteners.

I have two questions. Any recommendations of one mount over another say Rennline vs BK or other? Are two fire extinguishers - 1 under both seats a good/better idea?

Interesting that so many of you are proponents.

I'd rather not give up the space or legroom (at 6'6" I need all I can get, especially in the 993) and it would be complex to get them for every car we have.

In my plane, I have one and I would never be without - but it is to save my ***, not the plane! If my car burns, I'll just get out - can't do that for a plane.

My turbo caught fire in September. Small oil leak by the passenger side turbo apparently. Freak accident according to everyone that saw it, but IT DOES HAPPEN! I grabbed a hose and got it out before it exploded on me. Not the best idea using water, but I had no other options.

There is an extinguisher in the new GT3... You never need it until you really need it!

Believe me, you want a fire extinguisher in your car. Why? Because my car got burned, good thing not totally. I was able to put off the remaining fire with sand

Just want to do a little bump and check to make sure if anybody has a preference for which brand/design of fire extinguisher seat bracket works best. I had heard Rennline requires some modification. I will be using electric adjustable 993 seats and not hard back.

I have a Stable Energies in one and a Brey-Krause in the other. Both are well made but the nod goes to the Stable Energies since it moves with the seat...A definite plus.

Now that's highly significant! I'll have to study how the Rennline connects to see if it moves with the seat or not. If I go with that option I can get a can of safety wire they carry as a x-mas gift since I'm a bit of a scrooge.

I have an Amerex 2.5 lb Halotron bottle mounted with a BK universal mount and quick release.

So far my SE mount seems pretty good but it does oscillate/flex up and down over bumps.

I was in a car fire in my youth and advocate carrying an extinuisher.

What about a fuel kill switch that not only kills the fuel pump but also dumps the rail by firing the pressure regulator? Anyone seen one of those?
