yes

no

It really depends... for example, Darin's (the lucky bugger) peeled off clean. No problem, no glue residue, etc.

The SGs on my cab were the worst case scenario. They came off one little piece at a time. I've done these many times and my own car was about the worst I have seen. Figures, eh?

Others are anywhere in between Darin's 993 and mine.
The DIY doc on our site covers it pretty well but applying heat with a hair dryer is a good tip to soften things up as you are removing them. There is a 3M product that I have not tried personally but have heard from reliable sources (Craig...) it does a great job of dissolving the glue. 3M Adhesive Remover.

Once they are off and the fender is clean it is relatively easy to install them. I kind of enjoy the install part...

Does anyone know where I can find guards for the area JUST behind the wheels that gets chipped? Like where the mud flap would protect?

I know the area you are talking about, sorry, I don't have anything for that spot yet. Need to make a template and then see if 14 mil material will work on that contour.
8 mil will work but it would be good to have the thicker material there. That spot takes a lot of abuse!
