Coming in from Arizona....any guesses on what one might expect for weather, highs, lows, for Montreal during Race weekend....
not concerned about rain, etc....mostly curious about how cold in the evening, possible highs during the day.....???

Contacted some distant relatives we have in Monteal and they are more then willing to host us for a few nights. They're about 15 minutes from the Metro station, so it should be easy access into the city. The problem are the tickets. What's available on the ticket sites is now quite exorbitant for grand stand seats and it looks like everyone is recommending against general admission tickets.
My two boys are adamant about coming as well, so I'm looking for three tickets. Anyone have a line?
If I go and try to scalp before the race on Sun - whats the going rate?

I've been to race days where it's been 95F and blazing sun (2006) as well as mid 60's and pissing rain (2000).

I generally don't leave for home after the race, usually stay the night. Does anyone have recommendations on a good spot to park to get a quick exit to the border?

I've sent out directions by PM and email to those that have expressed interest. If I've missed you, please send me a PM and I'll fire off an invite.
14 days and counting!
Best,
Matt

I park the car at a metro stop on the outskirts of the city...take metro to the race...race over..metro to the lot and you bypass all the city traffic trying to get out of town. I have to ask my buddy the name of the stop...cant remember for the life of me!

Assuming you are crossing into the US through either NY (87) or VT (89), you'd want to be on the south shore of the island, and the metro stop is Longueuil. It's on the yellow line, 1 stop from the track.

Matt

Not only is this thread great in terms of hanging out at Matt's but lots of great advice regarding the race. Here's my small contribution:
Cool link with seating charts - best I've seen of the venue so far: http://www.2tickets.ca/seating_chart...d=198&code=GRA
Looking forward to meeting everybody

Yeah, why not open it up while everyone is still travelling to get to the event.

Annual Crescent street F1 Event has been cancelled for 2010
Wednesday, 05 May 2010 22:40
This year, the principal F1 sponsors for Crescent street are LG Electronics, Virgin Group, Budweiser and Ford Motor Company. Ford Cosworth is somehow mixed up in the F1 event and Ford itself is heavily involved, as usual, with Nascar; both of which have events planned together with the Crescent Merchants Association in the calendar year.
Since the Ford brand name will be dominant on the street during the F1 event from Thursday thru Saturday, the car company nevertheless wants Sunday to remain 'Ford'-oriented.
Consequently, our annual Sunday F1 event has been forked over to the Mustang club hence, there will be no Crescent street event this year for PCA-Rennsport.
We have started discussions for the 2011 event and will keep you posted next spring.
