Winter Project Wrap-Up
This past winter was a busy winter for my 993. I decided to tackle a number of upgrades/projects. These upgrades included:
- Rothsport Shifter
- Golden Rod/SSK
- Aluminum Instrument Rings
- New Pads, Rotors, etc.
- Powdercoat calipers from black to red
- Stainless Steel brake lines
- Engine fan refresh (thanks to Andreas)
- Fan pulleys painted black (thanks again to Andreas)
- Custom Porsche center caps for my Forgeline's
- Routine maintenance (Manual tranny flush with Redline 75-W90NS, Clutch flush & complete brake flush with ATE SuperBlue, oil change with Amsoil 15W50)
Fister helped get all the details worked out to get the Rothsport Shifter to work with the Golden Rod and their SSK. The shifter feels great, everything is more precise, and I'm really liking the looks of the shifter. FDM also supplied all the rotors, pads, spiders needed to complete the brake job. Everything has taken quite a while, but the car is off jack stands and I've back to enjoying it. Thanks to everyone for the help, the Rennlist crowd is like family!
Pics below:
brakes before
calipers back from powdercoat (calipers were done by Forgeline Motorsports)
Calipers and rotors installed on the car
Aluminum Instrument Rings and Rothsport Shifter
Engine Fan and pulleys
The only issue I noticed is that I seem to have a very very small leak on the tranny. After a couple of weeks it was probably only a couple of drops, where could this be from? I tried to snap a few pics, you can see them below:
Enjoy!

I really like the way the Rothsport shifter feels when you grip it, and matched with the Golden Rod it's amazing. Everything is so precise and perfect. I'm sure other shifters provide a similar feel, but everything had a black boot, and I don't have a black interior. I decided to go with something a little different, and so far - I'm very pleased!

Looks Great, Andy!
The FD Motorsports/Rothsport joint venture was created because of you. You really liked the Rothsport shift lever, but wanted our SSK, as well.....so, I contacted Jeff at Rothsport and had him retrofit the bottom of his lever to our specs to work with our SSK. You are the first one to have it installed. thanks for being the guinea pig

Nice Andy! It rooks mahvelous.
Jeff (Rothsport) was pretty cool to work with on this project. The Rothsport levers are spectacularly well made pieces.
