F.S. CDR-220 $50
Before I post it in the classifieds I thought I would offer it up here. Ok, here is the catch (what do you expect for $50?): This does not have the converted faceplate and all the top buttons are messed up, presumably from being in the sun too much (This is out of a boxster). The rest of the radio is in ok shape; not perfect but no major scratches, just a patina of wear. I assume the buttons could be fixed when the display is reversed, but you might want to check wih Becker before committing. The good news is, it works!

You can take a razor blake and trim the buttons down so they are usable and not so unsightly. It is the plastic coating that is separating from the button itself.

I saw a thread here a few weeks back where someone was saying that Becker wasn't willing to do the $100 face plate exchange thing anymore... They did it for me in December, but word is that they won't do it anymore...I'd suggest a double-check with them before buying if that's an important consideration.
Maybe they'd take the whole thing as a core trade for a modified re-furb unit at a lower than standard cost? Worth asking them.

I was the one that doubled checked and posted the results. Thats why I was asking, hoping something had changed or a new alternative.
Called twice, same answer, no longer available. Through 2009 I believe you could still get them.

Update: Radio works fine, took all of 1 min to remove, and a couple mins to hook up and test. So in all about 5 mins to hear some wicked chunes. I did have the radio removal tool, and to remove the old bracket was nothing more than bending the tabs back.
