Default HELP! Recaro Mounting

Okay. I know this has been discussed before and I have searched. Oh how I have searched.

So, I bought a set of used Recaro Sport seats that came with Recaro sliders. Problem is, I ASSumed that I could just mount the sliders directly to the car like the stock seats do. I might be able to get two (one in front and one in rear) of the three bolt holes per side to line up, but, not the third. And there is a hole just in the wrong place to allow me to drill for the third mounting hole.

So, in view of the likelihood of a frontal impact, having two mounting bolts in back seems like a good idea - the factory did it for a reason.

Two questions:
1) What is a good bracket to mount given that I want to retain use of the seat belts and do not really want to spend another $250 per seat.

2) What is the group experience with using only two bolts per side - one front and one back?

Thanks,

Bob

I had my Recaros mounted with two bolts per side, not three. Most cars out there, I believe, have two bolts per side. Not sure shy Porsche went to 3.

Two per side, got Class 12.9 hardware.
Seat belt attachement options are Brey-Krause or OEM Porsche.

Yeah, only got 2 to work. Went 12.9 hardware as well. If your local hardware doesn't have it, bolts.com does.

I have 3 bolts on each track, 1 in front 2 in back. To do that and to provide more leg room I drilled a new hole at the front and i think 1 new hole ion the back(my memory is pretty poor these days)

I also replaced the stock bolts w/ something made of a harder steel, stock ones are sortta soft.

And this is sliders mounted directly? No additional brackets between the sliders and the car?

yes, here's the best pic I have. Yoou can see the new forward hole which matches the traling front hole in the chassis, then as I recall I needed to drill 1 additional hole at the aft end so that 2 bolts lined up w/ the chassis holes

That sure looks like 4 per slider... \

BK sells a R-9005 - Tunnel Side Seat Belt Anchor for your stock seat belts.
I recall having to drill two holes per slider to get things where I wanted them with 3 bolts per slider, but it has been a while for me as well.

There are 4 per rail holding the al. sidemounts to the top or sliding 1/2 of the steel rail, there are 3 per rail bolting the fixed 1/2 of the steel rail to the chassis

additionally on the tunnel side sliding rails there are 2 more bolts for the RS tunnel side seatbelt mounts

Here's pic from the bottom, you can see the holes in the fixed 1/2

here's the tunnel side RS mounts

when using the RS tunnel side mount the other 3 corners of the rails need a 3mm washer to keep things level, the washers are also Porsche RS parts

I had a ques. along this topic...
How's the seating position of the Pole Positions with sliders?
I'm aware they are considered a factory fitment.. but just curious
if you can sit nice and low... The Misanos w/ sliders were too high for me..

I'm 6'2". I take out the cushion when I have helmet on. With the cushion, I can sit up straight but the helmet rubs and squeaks along the headliner. I tried bolting the sidemounts directly to the rails without sliders, but the fore-aft position wasn't perfect and I didn't feel like drilling more holes. That would give you the most headroom.
