My mouth has been dropped after watching those videos. And after seeing the Stella startup, suddenly my middle fingers rose towards California emissions laws. Something about the Japanese taking their cars to some other level, even if its considered rice over here, it doesn't feel ricey. Please keep more RW goodness coming!!!

As an edit, I just realized that if I still had my 993, I would have done a conversion right now. =( Reading how they are looking for a US donor car.

i have never understood the negative concept of "ricey" having owned porsche (1) alfas (really nice 2).,,,bmw's (2 & really so-so)
& lots of american muscle (including a built out 04 cobra, whipple blower @18psi, bap, maf, tuned on a dyno at 575rwHP).....the lightweight 6 cyl, highly dependable cars....supra & skyline (aka gtr) have always remained impressive......so i assume ricer means "we cannot compete either competitively or dependability wise" so we we will slam you?

so let the debate begin................

"Ricer" (as referred to here) is more a lack of taste and or poor taste in making your Sentra look like a waanabe GT-R or sticking too many speed parts stickers all over your box stock 4 door Civic and thinking it has somehow now become faster... No disrespect for TRUE Japanese sports cars like the Supra, GT-R and RX7TT...

RICE = Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement (with the implication that not as much was done to the mechanicals to back up the looks)

Nakai-San makes some beautiful machinery. Natty Dread is my favorite 993 of all time. I am glad to hear that he was not affected by the Tsunami.

Have a Stella Artois in reverence for his talent...I know I will.

That reminds me how bad 993s need a lightweight flywheel!

My old 911 barked like that, I miss that bark...

Seriously, what's with the spray-painted tires?

You mean "idlers"?

Idlers Club is a club racing organization in Japan, why they paint the logo on the wheels I don't know.
Maybe they get them cheaper or just think it looks cool. IMO in an old skool way it kinda does.
