OT: Any Audi A6 owners
Hello, anyone own an A6 that have done some suspension and wheel upgrades please PM me as I would like to learn more about this. Thank you.

What series...I had a 2001...Uhm...C5 did a 9 1/2 x 18 BBS upgrade with 245 tires. I started with the factory sport suspension and the tires filled the wheel wells.
Sold it to a buddy in Folsom, CA and with 110k on the clock really needs shocks. The stock sport suspension was really pretty good.

Bruce, I have a C5 2000 A6 2.7t. It has 105 k miles and runs like a charm. I want to freshen up the look a bit as I am running stock susp and 16 inch wheels. Just wondering, how much it would cost to upgrade susp (to lower it a bit) and bigger wheels and wider tires (max sizes before rubbing) I am sure the cost of doing this has to be lower than the susp and wheel mod for our pcars? I dont want to go overboard, but the stock wheels need to go soon tks

On my 03 S6, swapped the stock 17" for OEM RS6 7-spoke wheels with 255 Pirellis; added a H-Sport sway bar but kept the stock sport suspension which was fine given the intended use of the car. The H-sport sways are an economical upgrade and I would recommend for you to consider 18" OEM takeoffs from a newer or higher line Audi if you're on budget.

Not much info for you, but my brother used to have a 2000 model and loved it. We did a little wheel shopping at one point - there were some factory S4 wheels and BBS REs, I think both for sale here on M2M classifieds, and both of those looked great on Audis. Confirm offsets before buying, though.

I own a 2001 A6 4.2, bone stock daily driver - awesome car IMHO! I've considered all the suspension and wheel upgrades but have never pulled the trigger for a variety of reasons. This thread is timely as I am considering it again. I'm told the 4.2 motor is heavier than what the suspension was really set up for and as a result all the front end bushings/components are subject to premature wear. My car has only 61K on the odo and my front end bushings are shot after extensive visual inspection. I'm sharing only because if you are considering upgrades check over your existing components which will remain as they may need attention. Parts are not expensive with many websites out there for Audi guys, this is a good one I've used before - www.blauparts.com - good luck.

My DD is a 2001 2.7t with sports suspension and manual 6 speed. I have about 75k on it with no issues other than the windshield washer lines have a small leak and the head lights have started to haze. I upgraded to a set of 17's from an S4 running 235/45's all around and they look and work great. Had the P6's then went with the Conti's and I like the Conti's a lot better.

i have a C6 A6. i have lowered the suspension (but it's all computer since its air suspension) and put some 19s on the car. i'm running 255/35/19 tires. the car runs very smoothly. try to check what Stasis has to offer for suspension (they are reasonably priced and and are very well tuned). i used them for my wife's A3 and they are just perfect for daily use even in the worse of roads and even on 19s.
for wheels, you can run Hartmann replica wheels. they look good but bend if you hit a solid pothole. but in the US you have nice roads so i don't think it will be that much of a concern. i'm running Sportec wheels on the A6 and Prodrive on the A3s. to make it easy run the car with the 4 tires on the same size.

An inexpensive suspension upgrade is to go to sport springs when replacing the shocks. I found the sport suspension good for a street car. It is not a track animal however my wife used it for the ProFormance school here at Pacific Raceways and I could see it was pretty composed. The instructors liked it too.
The BBS rims were not listed for the A6 at the time (2001) that I put them on but they were exactly like the optional 17 inch.
Here is my wife putting on her helmet at the track...her 50th birthday. She really got some bragging rights out of that!

Bruce, I like your Audi set up. As I have 105 k miles on the car, it will be time for a suspension replacement. So while I am in there, I was thinking changing the wheels to more sportier ones.

I've got a 2002 A6 2.7T quattro sport avant auto, which is quite rare here in the UK.
I actually dowgraded the wheels from 17" on 235/45 to 16" on 215/55 Michelin Primacy tyre as the ride quality on the sports suspension was far too jiggly. It's now just about perfect, less road noise too.
