Default Air Porsche 911 **** Inside

I stopped by my friend Rob Joy's shop recently. Rob has been building racing and restoring Porsche cars for 30 years. I get the sense when talking to him that he might know a thing or two about air-cooled motors That and what's typically lying about on any gven day I asked him to build my motor as a favor since he's long retired from street service. I have to say, he (in collaboration with Steve Weiner) did a great job. It executes like a pecision timepiece....incredible. I can barely wait for the next upgrade - proper gearbox coming this summer if all goes as planned.

Here are a couple pics including a few of Rob's projects in various stages. The orange 74 911 IROC car was especially cool.

P.S. I love this car and so appreciate living in a "summer all the time climate" so I can drive it all the time.

Nice pics, thanks. This last car with the oil tank access through the rear fender is an early factory 'special'. Do you know what it is? Maybe a 911R or 911S/T? Rare stuff...

It is indeed a 911ST....replica but a very authentic one with attention to details such as the side fill oil and proper steel flares. Not so much attention to this customers pocket book though.

Nice. Is it going to be a 'tribute' car with specific paint and graphics? What year is the tub?
