Default Heater bypass installed

Nothing to do this sunday so I installed the heater bypass from Rennline.

I thought it was a 5min job but getting the carbon pipe in that rubber piece was not so easy

After 2hours everything is installed and I must say that the engine bay looks very different. Clean, classy and lots of room. All 993's should have left the factory like this.

Afterwards I drove the car and it has plenty of heat. The strange thing is that the car feels different now??
Maybe it's in my head I don't know

That's what I figured.
It's -15°C here in Sout of Finland and there is about 2 feet of snow on the ground.
(I won't be driving the car before end of March/beginning of April.)
It is nice to know that it works even in so low temps. I don't think I ever drive the car when it's that cold out.

Looks great ! Can you tell us if the heater /fan/defroster & AC all work as they should? Especially the fan speeds since the main blower is gone.

Regards Rich

Maybe your car feels different because you shed 18 lbs.

Did you change the plastic shroud above the fan (to the 964 part) or were you able to massage it into place with the stock 993 part?

Best,

Matt

I really want to do this mod but was advised not to as the heater/ac will will not work so good. +1 with RDS928S..lets us know. Engine bay looks great. Now you need to get the carbon fiber plastic airbox to go along with the heater bypass tube.

The stock heater parts weigh less than 10 pounds, there's really only a tiny little weight savings.

And here's the trick I discovered to preserve the heating system: put a piece of black tape across the cowl air intake (the grille at the very rear of the hood). You'll have more heat than you can handle.

I have an OEM RS heater tube I've been planning to install as heat is not much of an issue in South Florida. My research didn't lead me to believe their would be a problem with my A/C, but now I'm concerned about doing the mod, will i have a problem with my A/C?

No effect on AC. Different systems.
