It doesn't cover daily drivers. I don't see a mileage limit but it doesn't drive to work, grocery getting, etc.

I have very little use for the insurance industry. When it comes time to claim, they love to weasel their way out of doing so.

I have my 912 insured with Hagerty's but I don't think they will insure something as new as '96. Anyone know?

Wow, thanks for the great tip. You just saved me $600 a year at least, as I've got a couple more cars to move over

You mean they didn't even TRY to keep a long term customer like you by offering a discount when they found out you were moving to Liberty Mutual?

I can't say if there are comparable policies available in the US. You would think so.
Unfortunately, I would also think we have more ambulance chasing lawyers. NOTE: I'm not calling all lawyers ambulance chasers. But some are, and I think the US prob has more than CN.

No, how could they? "Hey, we just figured out we could and should have been giving you a 50% reduction in our prices for the last 10 years... and here's a check for the difference ..." I wish. It was a pretty pathetic and awkward (for them) phone call.

I did the same thing with Bank of America. 30 year customer and just got sick and tired of being charged for every last f++king thing, like talking to someone ??? I got back from a business trip in Europe and they had charged me over $200 in exchange rate fees on ATM withdrawals and that was enough. I opened an online checking account with Charles Schwab which was paying 5% interest at that time (now 2%). They don't charge any fees for anything including foreign exchanges or wires and they re-imburse all domestic ATM charges, no matter who's machine I use, on the 1st of the month, every month. I love getting a little bonus of re-imbursed ATM charges and interest each month, it really makes me smile. Especially if I used Bank of America ATM's!! I even re-financed my home mortgage with them, completely on-line, dropped my rate 2 points, cost me $250 and saved me $370/month in interest. LOVE Chuck!

Regarding Haggarty, here is my quote from 3 weeks ago...

Approximately 800-900 per year for 96 C2 as a non daily driver...1000 deductible. Seemed high compared to my freind who insures two older 911s with them valued at a similar amount. (about 30000)

I wasnt impressed with Hagerty's rates on my 95. When I mentioned my average 5000 miles a year, they put me on the spot by insinuating I drive it all the time. I work from home, own 4 cars, and drive it purely for pleasure. I'll stick with my $800 a year 100/300 $250 deductible with The Hartford.

I do have my 77 Bronco insured with Hagerty--thats a big thumbs up on their rates and service.

I told them (Hagg) that I drive 4-5K per year and they gave me the same impression...as if they thought I drive it as a dd. I wonder how much that affects the rate?

My dd insurance company basically admitted that they are charging for 10k miles minimum per year whether I drive that much or not. I reminded them that they are supposed to be risk based business but they young lady on the other end of the phone don't even understand that let alone set the rates. I also reminded them that it is impossible to drive 2 vehicles at once so one vehicle is always parked and they should only be charging fire and theft one one. I asked them what rates I would pay if I had 20 cars and one driver. Its like beating my head against a wall.

Daily drivers become an interesting subject w/insurance for those who work from home with multiple cars.

On any given day, I travel on average of 10,000 miles with HD video conferencing from my home office. On average, I cover 50,000 miles a week with meetings, presentations, and demo's.

Funny, I pointed out the same fact to my insurance yesterday while inquiring about a hypothetical third car. Why can't I have fire and theft for each car individually and a policy to cover accident damage for whatever car I happen to be driving! Needless to say this is not in their interest.
