Most of them are really cheesy, too complicated, or really obvious "Prsche" (yeah duh).

Never cared for them.

now that is funny stuff

have personalized plates on my blue cab... but who could get "angry" at a car that color?

Never really thought plates would provoke anything... I suppose it depends on the plate.

thanks!

they are cheapo copies... and a bit heavy.
I recently went to the wheels in the pic below. MY02s powder coated in this cool matte black finish.
I saw the pic with the silver wheels this morning and thought "man, I like the silver mesh-style wheels".... I already sold the previous wheels with very new tires.
I need professional help.

I was going to get POOR, but I refuse to give my provincial government $235.25 for a sub standard quality licence plate whose paint rubs off in a year.

I always thought "fuch H20" would be cool on a 80's 911. Hard to explane that Fuch was a wheel designer to the DMV though

I remember when we lived up there you would see classified ads from people selling the DE 3 and lower 4 digit plates and they would be asking 5 digit prices for them. Is that still the case up there? 1 and 2 digit plates I think are handed down from generation to generation, you rarely saw those for sale. They would have sold for big bucks if they came available. I thought it was ridiculous.

Yes, the market for Delaware low digit plates is still strong.

Hell, they even have websites to sell them:

http://www.lowtags.com/
http://www.lowdigittags.com/

No affiliation, etc.

I gave up on them 20+ years ago. Kind of past meaning anything in CA. What I did find after 9/11 was a display-type plate in NV that just said "America". Put it on the back of the RSA race car (was NOT a street registered car), and I got so many inquiries on how I lucked out to get that plate. Alas, it got destroyed in the wreck.

Beautiful blue car. I raced sailboats against a blue hull boat that was named, "Blue Bayou". That would be a great vantiy plate for a blue air-cooled Porshce - "BLU BY U" or "BLUBYU" if letters are limited. And yes vantiy plates get attention. I have a 912 that has "OLD PHRT", as a plate. Recently I had a cop pull up alongside, and tell me that was the best plate she had seen in her career.

I'd rather stay as anonymous as possible. Around here nobody pays attention to me even in a 993, since I'm usually surrounded by cars a lot nicer than mine. I like to keep it that way.

But what's not good about personalized plates, imho, is that if you unintentionally cut off somebody on the freeway or accidentally do anything to incite road rage, you'll be remembered and spotted easier with personalized plates. Hey, this is LA and there are some wackos out there.

Personalized LP's are fer losers, divas, and those who think they make a difference...

I worked with someone who had FRODO 7. I mean who cares about LoTR and Frodo enought to settle for FRODO 7?!?

Honestly, I don't give a rats behind what people put on their plate, tho' I did think
"ifuseek" was kinda funny

ps ifuseek
if=f
u=u
see=c
k=k

Yes, you do. Buy them back, quickly! They looks spectacular. Just kidding. I'm sure the new wheels look great too. It's just so hard to see them in that pic.

Here was my old plate STLABLU

People would walk up to me all the time and ask "STLABLU"? I'd tell them, "like the Grateful Dead song - Stella Blue". I'd also have a Grateful Dead sticker on my car. They didn't really get it but I did and that's all that mattered. The last line of the song is "It seems that all this life, was but a dream - Stella Blue". Still gives me chills. My 911 was a dream for me since I was a kid. The other line "There's nothing you can hold, for very long", also rang true in my head. I am grateful every day I own my 993 as I know it won't last forever.

I debated to get vanity plates on the 993 till I realized I could get these instead. To me, these are a slight bit cooler than my old vanity plates

"Stella Blue"
Words by Robert Hunter; music by Jerry Garcia

All the years combine
they melt into a dream
A broken angel sings
from a guitar
In the end there's just a song
comes crying like the wind
through all the broken dreams
and vanished years
Stella Blue
When all the cards are down
there's nothing left to see
There's just the pavement left
and broken dreams
In the end there's still that song
comes crying like the wind
down every lonely street
that's ever been
Stella Blue
I've stayed in every blue-light cheap hotel
Can't win for trying
Dust off those rusty strings just
one more time
Gonna make em shine
It all rolls into one
and nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold
for very long
And when you hear that song
come crying like the wind
it seems like all this life
was just a dream
Stella Blue
