Good to see everyone popping up!

Maybe the spring of '97 the dealer in Fremont picked up a bunch of leftover '96's. There was a white/gray C2, really a base car. Something like $15K off sticker. Would have worked out to a little over $600/mo on a 72 mo. note with maybe $15K down. (Kinda fuzzy remembering.) Close as I've ever come to buying a new Porsche. Absolutely, positively glad I kept banging away with the torsion bar cars until I had the bucks to seamlessly move into 964's and 993's.

Default I still have my 96 993

Purchased from "collector" translation guy who didn't drive it, just parked it.

In 97 had 2548 miles, now has a few over 30K and is better than ever.

Count me this time!

I have never owned a new car. Strange, but true. 45years old.

I have and never will own a new car either-48 years old. I am glad to say I am the second owner-bought my car in 2000.

Unfortunately, I've had four brand new cars in my 40 years (89 Mustang 5.0LX, 92 Mustang GT, 02 Mini Cooper S, 03 S2000).. Looking back now, an air cooled Porsche is the only car I'd like to have owned from new.

Great responses. I wonder why there's so many more people describing themselves as original owners this time around while in 2006, only 6 people responded as 993 original owners?

Here's the list so far for 2010. We have 12 original owners in the house. Anyone else want to add themselves to this rare and getting rarer list?

Leander - 96 Targa
Don Thompson - 993 TT
Birol - 95 Coupe
Pete Debusmann - 97 993
Mark Sheurer - 98 C4 Cab
Freeman - 95 Polar Silver
Dannyboy - 97 C4S
993/907 - 95 Coupe
M. Schneider - 98 C2S Silver
Bob-SC 98C2S - 98 C2S Ocean Blue (11 posts in 9 years )
Seljan - 98 Cabrio
Don Thompson (911Q45) - 96 993TT. One of the very first 993TTs sold in the USA.

I'd like to say thank you to all the original owners of a 993, so guys like me could buy your car from you for a greatly reduced price when you got tired of it and moved onto something else.

I don't know why Don Thompson hasn't responded... but for completeness, his is a 96 993TT. It was one of the very first 993TTs sold in the USA. His screen name is 911Q45.

Thanks for that. I just edited the last post then to include his info. Now we're up to 12 original owners.

Any stragglers late to the post still left? Can you think of anyone that hasn't checked in here recently that still has his car?

I was 17 when my 1996 Cabriolet was new--definitely not the first owner, but I do still have my 1997 VW Jetta VR6 that my parents bought me for my 18th birthday/high school graduation. I'm the original owner, and it is still kinda my daily driver.

1st owner
2nd owner
3rd owner

etc.

Thanks for posting but I'm not sure what you're post meant by ".25M miles"
Did richardew and msw both buy a 993 new? If so, do you know which year and type?

Regards,
Steve R

They both are original owners, and have ~250,000 miles on their 993's.

Here is the updated list then as of 2/12/10. We're up to 13 original 993 owners left on Rennlist. I'm assuming the 993 TT guys visit this 993 board enough that if I missed someone, they would have reported in here, right?

Leander - 96 Targa
Birol - 95 Coupe
Pete Debusmann - 97 993
Mark Sheurer - 98 C4 Cab
Freeman - 95 Polar Silver
Dannyboy - 97 C4S
993/907 - 95 Coupe
M. Schneider - 98 C2S Silver
Bob-SC 98C2S - 98 C2S Ocean Blue (11 posts in 9 years )
Seljan - 98 Cabrio
Don Thompson (911Q45) - 96 993TT. One of the very first 993TTs sold in the USA.
msw - 97 TT
richardew - 96 C4

I knew about Richard's C4, but the Turbo is new to me. To both of these gentlemen:
