Default Oregon PCA Sunset Porsche One Day Sale Jan. 20th

OK. Not sure if this is just for Oregon PCA members but it appears Sunset Porsche is having a Dealer Cost + 15% sale on all parts. Sale is Wednesday January 20, 2010 for one day only. 9am - 5pm PST. Definitely worth asking even if your not in the region.

No affiliation... If this post is a no-no please feel free to remove it. I thought you all would be interested.

No idea. I already buy a lot of stuff from there since their prices are so good. I just noticed their ad on the Oregon Region PCA calendar for this month. It may be another 5-10% off but I have no idea to be honest. Just putting it out there in case its a good deal.

This was the response to my question if there are discounts for PCA members:

"Our Sunset Porsche dealer pricing program originally was advertised in
Excellence magazine and used to read "sell at dealer cost, plus a 15% handling
charge, plus UPS shipping to a US address" to outside of Oregon and Washington.
All customers outside OR and WA get this deal, shop owners, PCA members, Porsche
Pete Boxster Board members, Rennlist and renntech.org members and all others.
The support we get from these online sources is much appreciated also. On all
phone and email quotes we state the price WITH the 15% handling included for a
single easy to understand price. Then UPS shipping is added based on box size,
weight and destination. Average shipping runs 8-14 dollars. Now the new magazine
ad states "Best Deal on Porsche parts" but the program is still the same. We
only make 15% on our factory OEM Porsche parts, selection items (shirts, hats,
acc.) and tequipment items such as roof racks, carbon fiber parts, many other
special items. We are a Porsche dealer and don't sell aftermarket parts. Does
not apply on tires. We ship with UPS only, no USPS. No other discounts or
incentives apply, and no bulk purchase discounts. This program provides a better
discount than the PCA discount of retail less 10%. No sales tax in Oregon.
Information on how to purchase is below in my signature. You can call or use the
secure order form link in that signature. Any questions please ask."

Interesting. Why would they say its a "One Day Sale". Odd... Anyhow, their prices are great for a dealer nonetheless. Sorry if this is a waste and thanks for the info.

It is a sale for the Oregon customers, as they (and theoretically WA) customers don't qualify for the cost plus 15%. I'm sure it has to do with Porsche Dealership agreements.

that's close - they normally won't sell at cost + 15% to WA and OR folks to protect the local indies, jobbers, etc who buy parts from them. Each year in September, Sunset has its annual swap meet and they sell to local individuals that day. this looks like one more exception day for Northwesterners...

I live in Seattle and get cost plus 15%. Also, if you're making a big purchase, they will cut a better deal if you ask. They REALLY want to be your Porsche parts supplier

Interesting.

I was in Portland Tuesday-Thursday (19-21, just came in the door) with the girlfriend and just so happened to find myself at Sunset. How'd that happen? My previous/first/only visit was August 1985!

Finally got to meet Jeff, Luke, and Bob face to face. Great, helpful guys. I bought some brake pads (all the other parts are already in the garage), checked out a Panamera (I'm starting to like them), and tried to figure out how to take home a gorgeous white 997GT3.

Then Bobbi (GF) got looking aound (as well as texting some local 993 addicts/friends to reveal my location!) and I ended up getting a "Porsche parking only" sign as well as a cool bag to carry a bottle of oil in. I told Jeff it was a good thing we were travelling by train to and from Portland or I'd be leaving with a lot more of the "goodies" on display. The 917/Jeff Zwart book (drool!, I'll be ordering a copy for the postman to deliver in the morning), some shirts, models........like a kid in a candy store I was.

Tim, savings on the Canadian prices and relief from PST/GST must of made everything that much more attractive! Come to think of it I've been getting the "cost plus 15%" deal the last time I ordered parts from Sunset.

^^^Yup. The brake pads (F&R) ended up being half the cost from buying them at the local Porsche stealer.
