Koni Sports with M030
Koni Sport yellows are adjustable for rebound only, at least from what I have read and observed. The adjustment for both front and rear is made using a little white **** provided with the strut kit, which indexes with a small blade at the top of the strut. There is approximately 5 to 8 adjustment stops from full soft to full stiff. You don't have to dismantle anything to make adjustments.
I installed Koni Sport yellows on the rears of my SC some time ago. I really appreciated the adjustment feature to tune the rear dampening to match the front. At that time I installed Bilstein strut inserts with Smart Racing custom valving. Its not a track setup. It just provides some noticeable adjustment in dampening and makes the car better behaved and balanced.
Unlike Bilstein in the HDs, Koni chose to make the rear kit similar to the factory Monroe shocks in that any height adjustment is made using the shim system. It is not a wide variation in any case as the shims available are 5mm difference at the extreme. According to some source I read, this equates to around a 2 cm height difference at the fender. So essentially the sport height is set by the spring length and rate. You are right that the threads are primarily for corner balancing but there are enough threads available to adjust the front ride height to 'match' the rear setting somewhat.
I took some photos last night and will upload them when I get a chance.

The fronts and rears on the 993 are externally adjustable for rebound.

Darin or others, I'm wondering if you could give me a hand with identifying some 993 springs.
The fronts have Green/orange, which means that they are M030 RoW and should work on my Cab. The fronts, however, have two orange marks. What could they be? The pic is attached here.
Thanks in advance!

The orange/orange spring on this pic is actually rear.
I think I might have figured it out. It's probably red, not really orange, which is RoW Turbo M030. Which means that I'll be looking for a rear set of non-Turbo Row M030s for my cab.

As I just nosed into this thread for another reason, I may as well drag a red herring across the path of the OP .... Re. Koni FSD's, I recently installed a set on my SO's DD - a 1.8T Passat wagon: very pleased with the result using stock springs. The car handles washboard dirt roads with ease, but takes a well planted set with control on smooth corners. As much as I like HD's, these FSD's have a better range for a diverse application.

Garth, would you recommend these Turbo RoW M030 springs for a regular C2 cab? Or would the back be a little too stiff and I should find brow dotted rears? This is for a street car with possible very occasional autocross on street tires.
Also, do you think FSD, Yellows or HDs for that kind of application? The roads in Boston are atrocious.

OK, another question. What do we know about these Bilsteins (RS or RSR or what?)? Are they OK for teh street? How much stiffer would they be than HDs? Any other thoughts?
